Data Engineer
Location: Mainly remote, with monthly travel to Leeds/Bradford
Salary: Circa £55,000 + benefits
Type: Permanent | Full-time
The Opportunity
A forward-thinking organisation undergoing significant investment in its data and technology capabilities is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the evolution of a modern Azure-based data platform, supporting reporting, analytics, business intelligence, and emerging AI initiatives. You'll work closely with analysts, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Build and optimise curated datasets for reporting, analytics and business insight.
- Develop integrations between enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
- Drive high standards of data quality, governance and documentation.
- Support deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement of data solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and contribute to ongoing enhancements.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver impactful data projects.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience building and supporting enterprise data platforms, data lakes and data pipelines.
- Strong Python development skills, including PySpark.
- Advanced SQL expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Azure technologies such as: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Purview.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management and data quality principles.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
