About the Role
We are searching on behalf of our client for this role. This position is not with OVI. Our client is seeking two experienced Data Engineers to support a growing data transformation and cloud modernisation programme. The successful candidates will be hands-on engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, supporting cloud migration initiatives, and delivering enterprise-grade data solutions within a highly regulated banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Develop and maintain solutions using Databricks, Python and SQL.
- Support migration of data assets from legacy platforms into modern cloud-based architectures.
- Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems, including Oracle databases.
- Develop reusable data engineering frameworks and best practices.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, security and performance standards are met.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable fixes.
- Collaborate with architects, data analysts, business stakeholders and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the enterprise data platform.

Your Profile
- Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer within large enterprise environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Databricks.
- Advanced SQL development skills.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Extensive experience working with Oracle databases.
- Proven experience building and supporting data pipelines and data integration solutions.
- Experience working within cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, performance optimisation and data quality controls.
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of Data Engineering experience, with a strong development capability rather than an architecture or management focus. They should have experience delivering data solutions within complex enterprise organisations and the ability to quickly understand business requirements and convert them into robust technical solutions. A proactive and self-sufficient approach to delivery is essential.
