Role: Data Engineer

Location: London, UK

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead a data engineering team delivering Process Intelligence solutions using Celonis.
  • Remain hands-on – develop and deploy Process Intelligence solutions alongside the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Lead the setup of data extraction pipelines with both out-of-the-box connectors as well as building custom connectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of Celonis ETL capabilities – Extraction, SQL Transformations, Data Pools and Data Jobs.
  • Experience working with Vertica SQL to create custom activities in Celonis.
  • Experience in optimizing the performance of data pipelines.
  • Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Allocate work, review deliverables, and mentor data engineers within the team.

Technical Qualifications / Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Knowledge Models, Views, Analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of Celonis front end functions – PQL, PU functions.
  • Develop the integration of Process Intelligence tools with existing systems.
  • Serve as a liaison for the business analyst, project manager and client.
  • Lead discussions on operationalization of Celonis through usage of Action Flows, Action Views and Machine Learning capabilities.
  • Well versed with latest AI capabilities for Process Intelligence in Celonis.
  • Keen learner and up to date with latest capabilities of Celonis.

  • Understanding the business requirements thoroughly to identify the technical requirements.
  • Taking Initiative (Resourcefulness) and asking clarifying questions to ensure the build is robust and designed on best practices.
  • Focusing on Performance (Ensures Accountability, Delivers consistent results).
  • Ensures sufficient unit testing before releasing the build for functional testing.
  • Ability to lead a team independently in a contracting model with minimal onboarding ramp-up.

Minimum qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 8+ years Data Engineer/analytics, Experience in working SQL and relational databases, query authoring (SQL).
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading a data engineering team.
  • Previous work experience in ERP (SAP ECC / S4 HANA / Oracle Cloud / Oracle EBS R12) with strong process understanding knowledge.

Preferred qualifications

  • BE/BTech (or MS/MTech) degree or equivalent, Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Physics or related.
  • Strong communications skills to enable interaction with all levels and departments within the organization.
  • Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Celonis certification (Data Engineer / Analyst / Implementation Professional)
