Opportunity for an Experienced Data Engineer
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Engineer to work on a highly transformative MoD programme that will have a big impact on the British Army’s future capability.
This role presents a chance to operate as an SME on Data Strategy, influencing key design decisions and would suit a Data Engineer who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
Location
In the Westbury, Wiltshire area.

Hybrid Working
2-3 days per week will be expected on site. Flexible working is available.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Security and Compliance of Data Environments
- Author, review, and contribute to relevant documentation
- Assist in design of scalable, high-performance platforms and pipelines
- Define and enforce data engineering standards
- Act as an SME on Data Strategy
- Evaluate, select, and integrate new tools into the data ecosystem
Skills Required
- Hands-on Data Engineering experience
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
- Good SQL skills
- Programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java
- Data transformation
- ETL Pipelines
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills

Security Clearance
The ability and willingness to obtain SC Clearance is required for this role.
