The Role: Senior Data Engineer
We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and optimising modern data solutions that enable clients to make smarter, faster decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data systems and pipelines
- Analyse, organise, and transform raw data from multiple sources
- Evaluate business needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Conduct complex data analysis to uncover trends and actionable insights
- Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modelling
- Build algorithms, prototypes, and analytical tools
- Enhance data quality, reliability, and availability
- Identify new opportunities for data acquisition and automation
- Work collaboratively with data scientists, architects, and cross‑functional teams
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring a strong technical foundation and the curiosity to explore new ways to solve data challenges.
Essential Experience
- Proven success operating within Data Engineering teams
- Expertise with relational and MPP databases (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Strong data modelling skills (e.g., Kimball/Star Schema, Data Vault)
- Proficiency in SQL, including designing queries on large, complex datasets
- Experience with cloud and big‑data technologies such as Databricks/Spark, Airflow, Snowflake
- Hands-on experience with ELT/ETL tools like dbt, Fivetran, and related frameworks
- Strong knowledge of technologies such as Python, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Parquet, Hadoop
- Solid understanding of Agile delivery
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical solutions to non‑technical stakeholders
