Data Engineer – Marketing & Communications
Remote | £104,000 per annum | 6-Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join one of the world’s leading global technology organisations, operating some of the largest social and communications platforms worldwide. This is a high-impact opportunity to work with data at exceptional scale, supporting products used by billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses globally.
The Role
You will work closely with Marketing & Communications, Data Science and Engineering teams, designing and delivering scalable data solutions that support global marketing programmes and analytics.
The role is heavily focused on data engineering and ETL (approximately 80%), with the remaining 20% focused on dashboards and analytics. You will be expected to take ownership of projects end-to-end, from architecture and design through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data models, ETL pipelines and analytical solutions
- Develop solutions capable of processing billions of rows of data
- Translate business and analytical requirements into robust technical solutions
- Integrate structured and unstructured data using effective ETL patterns and frameworks
- Build dashboards and data visualisations supporting marketing performance
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers and Marketing professionals
- Design data architecture for large-scale projects and optimise performance and resource usage
- Maintain data quality, security and privacy standards
- Use AI tools to improve engineering and development efficiency

Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience working with data, such as in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science or a similar role.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modelling and data visualisation, plus experience with at least one programming language (Python preferred).
- Experience in Marketing Analytics or Marketing Technology is preferred.
