The Role: Data Engineer (Mid/Senior) - 12 Months Fixed Term Maternity Cover

The Team: Data

Hiring Manager: Director of Technology Operations

Hours: Full Time

Location: Hybrid* (Head office Nottingham)

Salary: £56,000 - £68,000 per annum (depending on experience)

At Medichecks, we’re on a mission to revolutionise the way people engage with their health. As a leader in remote blood testing, we empower individuals with insights that put them in control of their well-being. From working with big healthcare brands to powering over 500 clinics, pharmacies, and healthcare practitioners, we’re expanding fast—and we need exceptional people to help us grow.

If you're a data-driven problem solver with a passion for analytics, automation, and storytelling through data, this is your chance to make a real impact in a company that changes lives.

Purpose of this role

We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer who’s comfortable working with real independence and knows the AWS data ecosystem well, to help us design, build and maintain robust data pipelines and platforms. You’ll work closely with analysts, engineers and stakeholders across the business to make sure high-quality, reliable data is available for insight and decision-making.

As part of a small, forward-thinking team, you’ll turn raw data into data people can trust. That means designing data flows, building self-service reporting in BI platforms so teams can answer their own questions, and helping ship AI features on well-shaped data. You’ll make it easy for people, and for AI, to get reliable answers across Medichecks.

This is a full-stack data engineer role, giving you the opportunity to:

  • Understand business context - Work closely with key stakeholders across different teams.
  • Conceptualise solutions - Identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation.
  • Extract and prepare data - Work with multiple sources and convert the data to a clean & structure format.
  • Build and document solutions - develop, deploy and document your work, using AI tools where they help.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
