Data Engineer

Bristol Airport are recruiting for a Data Engineer to join our diverse and collaborative IT team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the airport’s data-driven transformation during a period of significant change.

The role requires excellent technical capability, a pragmatic delivery mindset, and the ability to engage closely with business users to turn data needs into reliable, user-friendly solutions. If you are a hands-on Data Engineer who enjoys working close to the business, delivering practical data solutions, and supporting end users through analytics, reporting, and data-driven applications, this could be for you!

This is a full time, hybrid role, with a minimum of 2 days in the office.

More about the Role

Working under the direction of the Data Architect, the Data Engineer will implement data solutions that support both large-scale strategic programmes and smaller business-led initiatives, ensuring consistency with data architecture standards while remaining responsive to operational needs. The role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions across the airport’s Azure data platform.

About you

You'll thrive working in a unique, exciting environment where change comes at pace and your role really makes a difference. You'll be happy to work independently whilst also being a key player in a larger IT team. You'll be organised and collaborative with experience in a Data Engineer role or similar. You'll have solid experience with core Azure services. SQL skills and experience optimising queries and data transformations. You'll be experienced in designing and building data pipelines and data models for analytics and reporting. With demonstrable ability to translate business data requirements into practical, reliable technical solutions.
