Data Engineer

This is an opportunity to join a leading organisation within the media sector, supporting a major data transformation programme across their cloud data platform. You'll play a key role in building and optimising scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions, working across AWS, Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow to deliver high-quality data products.

They are a well-established media organisation with a large and diverse audience, using data and technology to drive content, commercial, and customer decisions. As part of a significant data platform modernisation initiative, they are expanding their data engineering capability and investing in modern cloud technologies. This role offers the chance to work with large-scale data within a highly collaborative engineering environment.

The Role and Deliverables

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow.
  • Build and optimise data transformation models using dbt and SQL.
  • Develop and maintain reliable data ingestion and orchestration workflows using Airflow.
  • Work with large-scale datasets within Snowflake and AWS environments.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and platform teams to ensure data solutions are robust and fit for purpose.
  • Contribute to testing, monitoring, documentation, and ongoing optimisation of data pipelines and models.

  • Strong experience with SQL and modern data engineering practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt.
  • Strong experience working with Apache Airflow for data orchestration.
  • Experience working with AWS data services and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong Python skills for data engineering and pipeline development.
  • Ability to analyse, transform, and optimise complex datasets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.
