About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our partner company's Platform team as a Staff or Principal Data Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the technical direction of critical data infrastructure components. This is a deeply hands-on, individual contributor position that combines advanced software and data engineering with architectural leadership. Your primary focus will be designing and implementing scalable data acquisition, processing, and integration systems for large and complex experiential datasets used in cutting-edge AI environments. You will play a key role in establishing robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines, frameworks, and patterns that enable the wider engineering organization to build reliable and innovative AI solutions. You will also provide mentorship and technical guidance to other engineers, ensuring best practices and high standards across projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
- Extensive experience in building and maintaining data-intensive production systems
- Proven track record of defining and evolving data architecture in complex environments
- Strong expertise in distributed processing, storage, and operational reliability
- Hands-on experience with data acquisition, ingestion, processing, and integration techniques
- Familiarity with modern data security, privacy, and sanitization practices
- Ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering teams beyond direct implementation
- Excellent debugging skills and a strong instinct for production systems
- Deep understanding of scalable infrastructure design and architectural trade-offs
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, reliable data acquisition, ingestion, and processing pipelines for large experiential datasets
- Develop and evolve core data infrastructure supporting data quality, security, privacy, and sanitization
- Establish reusable data patterns, frameworks, and best practices to enable efficient development across teams
- Identify architectural limitations in existing data systems and lead efforts to transition to more scalable solutions
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, including mentorship, code reviews, and debugging
- Define and implement strategies for data integration, management, and operational excellence
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align data infrastructure with overall platform goals
- Stay updated with emerging data engineering trends and incorporate them into the platform architecture
