About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join Moody's Digital Content & Innovations team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that underpin Moody's next-generation digital content platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and efficient data solutions that support the company's strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, a passion for innovative technology, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience within a data engineering or software development team
  • Proven expertise in designing and developing data integration and ETL pipelines from diverse data sources and formats
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, dbt, and Python for data pipeline orchestration and development
  • Strong proficiency in database technologies including Postgres SQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake, and Databricks
  • Experience working in Agile environments, collaborating with product owners, and engaging with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Awareness of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and generative AI coding assistants to enhance productivity and code quality
  • Understanding of data engineering considerations for AI and machine learning workloads, including data quality, governance, lineage, and scalability

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and supporting highly scalable data engineering solutions that drive Moody's digital content platform. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines utilizing DataBricks, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, dbt (SQL), and Python within an AWS environment
  • Supporting platform optimization efforts, infrastructure improvements, process control enhancements, and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Collaborating with Moody's technical teams and business stakeholders throughout the design, development, and deployment phases to meet evolving data needs
  • Engaging with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver scalable, efficient data solutions
  • Mentoring team members through code reviews, documentation, and conducting workshops to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
