🚀 Junior Data Engineer | AWS, Snowflake, SQL

💰 £40,000 - £55,000

📍 Hemel Hempstead | Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite (flexibility available)

Here at Burns Sheehan, we're working with a highly reputable, PE-backed business looking to bring a talented Junior Data Engineer into its data engineering function.

You'll be joining a small, experienced team working with a modern cloud data stack, where you'll have the opportunity to take real ownership, develop your engineering skills and contribute to projects that directly impact business decisions.

The business is already embracing AI-assisted engineering and Snowflake Cortex, alongside upcoming initiatives involving forecasting, customer behaviour, pricing and operational optimisation.

🔎 What You'll Be Doing:

  • Building and maintaining data pipelines using AWS, Snowflake and dbt.
  • Writing and optimising SQL queries and developing your Python skills.
  • Supporting data modelling, transformation, testing and reconciliation.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure data accuracy.
  • Contributing to new data products and improvements across the platform.
  • Learning from experienced engineers while gradually taking greater ownership of projects.

💡 What We're Looking For:

  • Strong SQL skills and a good understanding of data engineering fundamentals.
  • Exposure to Python, AWS, Snowflake or similar modern data technologies.
  • An understanding of data pipelines, transformation and data quality.
  • A curious, proactive mindset and the confidence to solve problems independently.
  • Someone who enjoys learning new technologies and wants to develop into a well-rounded Data Engineer.
