Data Engineer - Remote/UK Based
£60,000-70,000 Annual Base Salary
A growing technical team is looking for a Data Engineer to join them at an exciting point in their data journey.
This is a remote-first, permanent role within a small and collaborative technical team, where you’ll have genuine influence over how the data environment develops. You’ll work alongside two other Data Engineers/Analysts, providing technical support and mentoring while getting involved in a range of projects across the data platform.
This isn’t a role where you’ll simply inherit an existing environment and keep things ticking over. There’s plenty of opportunity to improve, modernise and shape the way data is collected, transformed and used across the business.
What’s coming up?
The immediate priority is a migration to Microsoft Fabric, giving you the opportunity to play a key role in moving the existing data environment towards a more modern architecture.
Once the migration is underway, the role will develop into a varied mix of BAU, platform improvements, optimisation and new project work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
