Data Engineer | Newcastle Upon Tyne | Up to £120,000 + Bonus
A growing technology consultancy is looking to hire Data Engineers to join its expanding engineering team in Newcastle.
Working across a variety of large-scale transformation programmes, you'll help design, build and maintain modern data platforms and pipelines that enable advanced analytics, reporting and decision-making for clients across multiple sectors.
This is an opportunity to work alongside highly capable engineers, consultants and stakeholders on technically challenging projects where you'll have real ownership and influence from day one.
The Role
You'll be responsible for building scalable data-intensive systems, integrating data from multiple sources and ensuring data products remain reliable, performant and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines and platforms
- Build and maintain data-intensive applications
- Integrate internal and external data sources
- Ensure data quality, reliability and accessibility
- Support analytics and modelling initiatives
- Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Technologies
Experience with some of the following is desirable:
- Python
- SQL
- Spark
- Databricks
- Airflow
- AWS, Azure or GCP
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code

What We're Looking For
- 3+ years' experience in Data Engineering
- Strong programming and data engineering fundamentals
- Experience building production-grade data solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments
- Consultancy, financial services or regulated industry experience beneficial

- £60,000 - £120,000 salary
