Data Engineer | AI & Data Platform | Tier 1 SAAS

📍 Cheshire (Onsite)
💰 Up to £110K + Equity + Strong Benefits

TECH: AWS | Python | SQL | dbt | Data Warehousing | AI/LLM Context Engineering

We're partnered with a highly respected, engineering-led technology SAAS business building products used by hundreds of thousands of technical professionals globally.
They're growing their data function and adding a Data Engineer to work alongside their Senior Data Engineer, as they invest in AI-ready data systems, context engineering, and decision intelligence across the business.

The Opportunity

A genuinely hands-on Data Engineering role, building and maintaining scalable pipelines and data foundations — not a "keep the lights on" position.
A real focus of the role is contributing to clean, well-structured, contextualised data that supports LLMs, internal AI tooling and agentic workflows — a live, active priority for the team.
You'll work closely with the Senior Data Engineer and wider stakeholders across Finance, People and Technology domains, with room to grow into more ownership over time.
Collaborative environment with genuine input into tooling and delivery decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building and maintaining scalable cloud-native data pipelines
  • Contributing to data warehousing, governance and semantic structure decisions
  • Supporting the build of AI-ready datasets and contextual data models for LLM/agentic consumption
  • Working with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Following best practice around testing, CI/CD, observability and data quality
  • Partnering with analysts and engineers across multiple business domains

What They're Looking For

  • Solid experience as a Data Engineer in a modern cloud environment
  • Strong SQL and Python skills
  • Experience building data pipelines on AWS
  • Good understanding of data warehousing and data modelling fundamentals
  • Comfortable communicating with non-technical stakeholders
  • Some hands-on exposure to AI/LLM context construction, structured data for agentic systems, or context engineering is a strong plus — genuine depth here goes a long way, even at this level
  • Ideally experience within a product-led or SaaS technology business
