💰 £50 per hour PAYE + 25 days paid holiday
📅 4-month contract | 26 October 2026 – 25 February 2027
⏰ 40 hours per week
📍 UK – Remote from approved locations
We are recruiting for an experienced Data Engineer to join a leading global technology organisation on an initial four-month contract.
This is a hands-on engineering role supporting a high-profile data engineering team working with large-scale production datasets. You’ll build and maintain robust data pipelines, optimise SQL performance and help ensure the quality and reliability of business-critical data.

🛠️ What you’ll be doing
- Build, test and maintain batch ETL pipelines for large-scale datasets
- Implement pipeline and table changes, including backfills and schema updates
- Write and optimise SQL for large datasets
- Investigate and resolve data quality and pipeline issues
- Use Python for data transformation and pipeline orchestration
- Add and maintain data quality checks, tests and technical documentation
- Produce prototypes and exploratory analysis where required
- Work within established Git, code review and deployment workflows
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts and Engineering teams

🎯 What we’re looking for
- 5+ years' experience building production data pipelines
- Excellent SQL, including performance tuning on large tables
- Strong Python for data transformation and orchestration
- Experience with Spark, PySpark, Presto, Trino, Hive or similar
- Experience with Airflow or a similar workflow scheduler
- Comfortable working with Git and code-review workflows
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience with analytics data modelling, BI tools, data quality frameworks or pipeline observability would be advantageous.
