Bloomberg Data Integration Engineer – Contract
Location: London
Contract: Initial contract
Day rate: Competitive £circa 700p/d
Inside IR35 - Onsite Full Time
We are supporting a growing financial-markets business.
They are looking for a hands-on Bloomberg Data Integration Engineer to build the connectivity required to feed real-time and static Bloomberg data into the new platform.
This is a practical integration role rather than a low-latency market-data development position. The successful contractor will have previously connected Bloomberg data to downstream trading, middle-office or operational systems and will be comfortable building, testing and supporting the required interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Build connectivity between Bloomberg and the new middle-office system.
- Integrate real-time market data and static or reference data.
- Develop and configure the required Bloomberg data feeds and interfaces.
- Map Bloomberg fields and instrument identifiers into the formats required by the receiving system.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand the required data sets and integration points.
- Validate the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of incoming data.
- Investigate missing, stale or incorrectly mapped Bloomberg data.
- Build appropriate logging, monitoring and error-handling processes.
- Support system testing, user acceptance testing and production implementation.
- Resolve integration and data issues during the delivery and stabilisation phases.
- Document interfaces, data mappings and support procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidate profile
