About the Opportunity
We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for the role of Data Engineering Intern. This remote internship opportunity is designed for students and recent graduates who are interested in data infrastructure, cloud technologies, database systems, and developing scalable data solutions.
This internship provides hands-on experience with modern data engineering concepts, including data pipeline creation, ETL workflows, database management, and cloud-based data platforms while working in a collaborative remote environment.

Role Overview
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will support the development, management, and optimization of data pipelines and infrastructure that enable analytics and business intelligence solutions. You will work with databases, datasets, and cloud technologies while gaining practical exposure to industry-standard data engineering tools, processes, and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, processing, transforming, and integrating data from multiple sources.
- Support the development, testing, and maintenance of ETL and ELT pipelines.
- Help create and improve data workflows for reporting and analytics purposes.
- Use SQL to extract, analyze, and validate data from databases.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and reliability across various datasets.
- Assist with database management, data modeling, and data warehouse activities.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams to understand project requirements.
- Support data migration, automation, and workflow improvement initiatives.
- Maintain documentation related to data pipelines, processes, and technical workflows.
- Stay updated with emerging data engineering technologies, tools, and industry practices.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in data engineering, databases, cloud computing, and large-scale data systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of Python programming.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with database structures and data modeling principles.
- Understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline concepts.
- Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new data engineering technologies and tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, PySpark, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or equivalent platforms.
- Familiarity with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or distributed data processing technologies.
- Understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data pipeline development.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
