About the Company

We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for the position of Data Engineering Intern. This remote internship is designed for motivated students and recent graduates who are passionate about building scalable data solutions, managing large datasets, and supporting data-driven applications. This opportunity provides practical exposure to data engineering concepts, cloud technologies, ETL processes, and modern data infrastructure while working in a collaborative remote environment.

About the Role

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that enable efficient data processing and analysis. You will work with structured and unstructured data while gaining practical experience with modern data engineering tools and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, processing, and transforming large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Support the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Help build and optimize data workflows for analytics and reporting.
  • Work with SQL to extract, transform, and validate data.
  • Monitor data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams.
  • Assist in integrating data from APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Document data pipelines, workflows, and technical processes.
  • Support troubleshooting and performance optimization of data systems.
  • Stay updated with emerging data engineering technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in data engineering, databases, and cloud technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Python programming.
  • Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and data modelling.
  • Basic understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn modern data engineering technologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Python (Pandas, PySpark preferred).
  • SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar).
  • Apache Spark or Hadoop (preferred).
  • Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
  • Git and version control.
  • Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Data Pipeline Development.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.
