We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for the position of Data Engineering Intern. This remote internship is designed for motivated students and recent graduates who are passionate about data infrastructure, cloud technologies, and building scalable data solutions.
This opportunity provides practical exposure to modern data engineering practices, including data pipeline development, ETL processes, database management, and cloud-based data platforms while working in a collaborative remote environment.

Role Overview
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data infrastructure that power analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will work with large datasets, databases, and cloud technologies while gaining practical experience with industry-standard data engineering tools and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, transforming, and integrating data from multiple sources.
- Support the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Build and optimise data workflows for analytics and reporting.
- Work with SQL to query, extract, and validate data.
- Help maintain data quality, integrity, and consistency across datasets.
- Assist in designing and managing relational databases and data warehouses.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams on project requirements.
- Support data migration, automation, and workflow optimisation tasks.
- Document data pipelines, workflows, and technical processes.
- Stay updated with modern data engineering technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in data engineering, databases, cloud computing, and big data technologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of Python programming.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with database design and data modelling concepts.
- Basic understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn modern data engineering technologies and tools.
Preferred Skills
- Python (Pandas, PySpark, or similar libraries).
- SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or equivalent).
- Apache Spark or Hadoop.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
- Git and version control systems.
- Data Warehousing concepts.
- Data Pipeline Development.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.
