Data Engineering Lead | Bristol (3 days a week) | £75,000 – £85,000
I’m currently working with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced Data Engineering Lead to join their growing Data & Insight function.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people while staying technically hands-on, with a key role in shaping the organisation’s data strategy and modernising its data platform.
We can consider Senior Data Engineers who are looking to make a step up into a more Senior role!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, mentor and develop a talented team of Data Engineers
- Provide technical direction across data platforms and products
- Drive the migration to Databricks and a modern lakehouse environment
- Stay hands-on with complex engineering challenges using Python, SQL & Spark
- Work closely with Technology, Architecture, BI and wider business teams
- Support major transformation and integration programmes

What They’re Looking For
- Exposure to management of Data Engineering teams
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Python and SQL
- Solid understanding of modern data architecture and engineering practices
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Someone who can balance technical leadership with strategic thinking
