Data Engineering Manager | Contract | UK
I'm working with a well-established organisation who are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to come in and lead an established Data & Analytics Engineering team.
This isn't just about managing people. They need someone who can challenge the way things are done, bring fresh ideas to the table and help the team develop technically and professionally.
The environment is predominantly Snowflake, with some Databricks, alongside a couple of other data platforms.

- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data & Analytics Engineers.
- Take ownership of engineering standards, best practices and delivery across multiple data platforms.
- Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve how the team operates.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to align technical delivery with business objectives.
- Provide technical direction across Snowflake, Databricks and the wider data ecosystem.
- Help build a high-performing team, encouraging collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:
- Previous experience leading Data Engineering / Analytics Engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in Snowflake, ideally with exposure to Databricks.
- Someone who has remained technically close to modern data engineering.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, challenge decisions and drive improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive leader who isn't afraid to question the status quo.
