We're looking for an experienced Data Enterprise Architect to support a major transformation programme within the UK utilities sector, with a particular focus on water. Utilities sector experience is essential.
The role will provide architecture leadership across asset, geospatial, telemetry and operational data, supporting enterprise data, Digital Twin and Unified Namespace (UNS) initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Design and document target-state data architecture, including logical and physical data models.
- Define and establish Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture, standards, governance, naming conventions and integration principles.
- Design data extraction, transformation and integration approaches across static, historical, dynamic and real-time data.
- Develop architecture standards covering Asset Data, Geospatial Data and Telemetry Data in support of Digital Twin capabilities.
- Define interoperability, metadata, data catalogue, governance and enterprise data modelling standards.
- Develop and implement a data health framework covering data availability, quality and usability.
- Define data-quality metrics, assessment methodologies, monitoring controls, dashboards, scorecards and executive reporting.
- Identify authoritative data sources, ownership, data gaps and remediation requirements.
- Work closely with data stewards, SMEs and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Provide architecture assurance, technical leadership and risk/dependency management across data modelling, integration, governance, UNS and Digital Twin workstreams.

- Strong Enterprise / Data Architecture background.
- Experience across asset, geospatial, telemetry and operational data.
- Knowledge of Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture and real-time data integration.
- Experience supporting Digital Twin programmes or similar enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Strong data governance, data quality, metadata and modelling experience.
- Utilities sector experience is essential, ideally within the water industry.
