About The Role
Connect2Dorset is currently seeking a meticulous and dedicated Data Entry Officer to join their team on a temporary basis for three months. This role is based in Dorchester and offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to local government operations through precise data management. The primary focus of this position is to handle high-volume data entry tasks, ensuring that information from pre-prepared spreadsheets is accurately transferred into the council's core systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting administrative efficiency, and assisting in the smooth functioning of council operations.
The role requires working with large datasets, backdating data where necessary, and adhering to strict confidentiality protocols. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing flexibility between on-site and remote work, depending on operational needs and personal circumstances. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to follow established procedures under tight deadlines.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics. Prior experience in data entry, administration, or a similar role is highly desirable. Familiarity with data management systems and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is essential. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality are critical attributes for success in this role. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills are also required to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Accurately input large volumes of data from pre-prepared spreadsheets into the council's core systems.
- Ensure all mandatory fields are completed correctly and consistently to maintain data integrity.
- Backdate data entries when necessary, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Follow detailed processes and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency across tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve data discrepancies and issues promptly.
- Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks related to data management as required.
