Data Governance Analyst
Handforth Support Office (Hybrid) / Grade E Salary £40k per annum + benefits Permanent, full-time role 39 hours per week

We're looking for a Data Governance Analyst to help us build, embed and continuously improve our data governance framework across the business. If you're naturally curious, highly organised and enjoy bringing structure to complexity, this could be the perfect opportunity to make a real difference.
What you'll be doing
Working closely with our Data Governance Lead and stakeholders across Technology, Data, Privacy, Security and the wider business, you'll help ensure our Customer, Product, Clinical and Colleague data is trusted, well-managed and fit for the future.
You'll:
- Support and maintain our enterprise data governance framework
- Coordinate governance activities, actions and stakeholder engagement
- Help define and improve data ownership, stewardship and accountability
- Support data quality initiatives, investigations and remediation activities
- Maintain governance documentation, policies, standards and reporting
- Assist with audits, controls, compliance requirements and evidence gathering
- Contribute to our data catalogue, metadata management and governance tooling
- Create practical guidance and help colleagues understand their data responsibilities
- Support the safe and responsible use of data as we continue our AI journey

About you
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people just as much as they enjoy working with data.
You'll likely have experience in data governance, data quality, data management or a similar discipline, and be comfortable engaging with stakeholders across different teams.
You'll bring:
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
- An eye for detail and a passion for doing things properly
- Confidence coordinating actions and keeping initiatives moving forward
- The ability to simplify complex information and communicate it clearly
- An understanding of concepts such as data ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage and data quality
- A collaborative approach and confidence challenging constructively when needed

Bonus points if you've worked with governance or data quality tools, have experience in retail or regulated environments, or have exposure to data protection, information security or AI readiness programmes.
