About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in data governance and data quality whilst making a visible impact across the organisation.
As Data Governance & Quality Officer, you will help colleagues across CIOB improve the quality, consistency and integrity of our data. Working with teams across the business, you will support the development of governance frameworks, standards and processes that ensure our data is accurate, trusted, secure and fit for purpose.
The role combines hands-on data quality activities with opportunities to contribute to wider governance initiatives, helping CIOB strengthen how data is managed, protected and used to support better decision-making.
Whether your background is in CRM administration, data quality, business analysis, data management or an early governance role, this position offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and develop specialist expertise in data governance.
Candidates within a commutable distance of Bracknell are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and continuous improvement of CIOB's Data Governance Framework, including standards, policies, business glossaries and governance processes.
- Conduct research and provide first-level approval for new or updated Data Quality Rules across Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Timeliness and Validity.
- Perform routine Data Quality Assessments to identify duplicates, inconsistencies and inaccuracies within key data sets.
- Lead data quality improvement and cleansing initiatives, identifying root causes and helping prevent recurring issues.
- Work with colleagues across the organisation to promote good data practices and increase awareness of governance responsibilities.
- Highlight data quality risks and recommend practical improvements to processes and controls.
- Contribute to the ongoing roadmap for enhancing CIOB's data governance and quality capabilities.
- Provide guidance on data ethics and the responsible use of data and insights.
- Support compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Maintain governance and process documentation relevant to the role.

About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about data and enjoys solving problems, improving processes and helping others make better use of information.
You may already have experience in data governance, data quality or CRM management, or you may be looking to take the next step in your career and specialise in this growing area.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working with data in a CRM, data quality, data administration, governance, analyst or related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain data issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Confidence working with stakeholders across different teams and levels of the organisation.
- Experience investigating data issues and recommending improvements.
- A genuine interest in data governance, data quality and responsible data management.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting data governance frameworks, standards or policies.
- Proficiency in SQL for data exploration, profiling or analysis.
- Knowledge of GDPR, data protection or information governance principles.
- Experience within a membership, professional body, non-profit or regulatory environment.
- Experience maintaining data catalogues, business glossaries or governance documentation.
