Should have at least 8+ yrs of experience as Business Analyst and strong experience as Data Governance BA.
- Drive Data Governance initiatives by working closely with business stakeholders, data owners, data stewards, and technology teams to gather, analyse, and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
- Leverage Microsoft Purview to support the adoption and effective use of capabilities including Data Map, Unified Catalog, Business Glossary, classifications, lineage, collections, metadata management, and data quality.
- Define and improve governance processes by documenting current and future-state processes, data flows, ownership models, stewardship responsibilities, governance controls, and operating procedures.
- Translate business requirements into delivery outcomes through well-defined functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritised backlogs, process maps, data dictionaries, and governance documentation.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and workshops, facilitating interviews, playback sessions, and cross-functional discussions to align business, data, and technology teams and ensure governance requirements are embedded into solutions.
- Support data quality and management initiatives through data analysis, profiling, root-cause investigation, remediation planning, and measurement of governance and data quality KPIs, using SQL and reporting/data analysis tools where required.
- Collaborate across the wider data ecosystem, partnering with Data Engineering, Analytics, Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Transformation teams to improve data ownership, discoverability, trust, and regulatory alignment.
- Bring strong analytical and communication skills with proven Business Analysis experience across data, analytics, governance, compliance, or transformation programmes, alongside a proactive mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to responsibly use AI-assisted tools to enhance analysis, documentation, and productivity. Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or Visio is advantageous; relevant Business Analysis, Data Governance, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
