Data Protection & Privacy Specialist
🔒 Help shape the responsible use of data for projects that create real-world impact.
We're partnering with an organisation that works on large-scale international programmes and is looking for a Data Protection & Privacy Specialist to lead privacy governance, data protection compliance and data-sharing arrangements across complex, data-driven initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving challenging privacy and regulatory issues while working closely with legal, technical and operational teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) and related contractual documentation.
- Managing DPIAs, privacy risk assessments and international data transfer requirements.
- Advising on GDPR, UK GDPR and broader global privacy regulations.
- Acting as the key point of contact for privacy and compliance stakeholders.
- Supporting audits, due diligence activities and privacy governance programmes.
- Working alongside technical teams to ensure privacy controls and safeguards are embedded into data handling processes.
- Maintaining privacy policies, records of processing activities and ongoing compliance frameworks.

What we're looking for:

- Experience in Data Protection, Privacy, Compliance or Information Governance.
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR, DPIAs and privacy risk management.
- Experience drafting or reviewing data-sharing and data-processing agreements.
- Ability to engage with both legal and technical stakeholders.
- Professional privacy qualifications such as CIPP/E or CIPM would be advantageous.
- Exposure to telecommunications, public sector, research, healthcare, NGO or highly regulated environments would be beneficial.
