The role

You’ll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to help establish stronger governance, accountability and data quality across the organisation.

  • Supporting the development and embedding of the Data Governance Policy, standards and controls
  • Identifying and establishing Data Owners and Data Stewards
  • Defining and managing Critical Data Elements
  • Maintaining and enhancing the Data Catalogue, including business glossaries, lineage, ownership and classifications
  • Supporting the identification and remediation of Data Quality issues
  • Establishing and monitoring data quality metrics and controls
  • Facilitating workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Coordinating Data Governance Forums and tracking actions, risks and decisions
  • Supporting major data and technology transformation programmes
  • Deputising for the Head of Data where required

  • You'll ideally have experience within Data Governance, Data Management, Business Analysis or Data Analysis, gained within a financial institution.
  • A strong understanding of banking data, reporting and operational processes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Experience working across both business and technology teams
  • An understanding of data ownership, stewardship, quality and governance
  • Experience with Data Catalogue / Metadata Management platforms
  • Knowledge of Data Lineage and Business Glossaries
  • An understanding of data-related regulatory and risk requirements
  • SQL, relational database and/or data modelling knowledge
