The role
You’ll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to help establish stronger governance, accountability and data quality across the organisation.
- Supporting the development and embedding of the Data Governance Policy, standards and controls
- Identifying and establishing Data Owners and Data Stewards
- Defining and managing Critical Data Elements
- Maintaining and enhancing the Data Catalogue, including business glossaries, lineage, ownership and classifications
- Supporting the identification and remediation of Data Quality issues
- Establishing and monitoring data quality metrics and controls
- Facilitating workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Coordinating Data Governance Forums and tracking actions, risks and decisions
- Supporting major data and technology transformation programmes
- Deputising for the Head of Data where required

- You'll ideally have experience within Data Governance, Data Management, Business Analysis or Data Analysis, gained within a financial institution.
- A strong understanding of banking data, reporting and operational processes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Experience working across both business and technology teams
- An understanding of data ownership, stewardship, quality and governance
- Experience with Data Catalogue / Metadata Management platforms
- Knowledge of Data Lineage and Business Glossaries
- An understanding of data-related regulatory and risk requirements
- SQL, relational database and/or data modelling knowledge
