Data Governance Manager – Banking – Contract - London – Hybrid

A Data Governance Specialist is required by a UK Challenger Bank on a contract basis to champion better data practices across the business and help turn their data into a genuine competitive advantage.

Data is one of the most valuable assets a bank holds — and we're looking for someone who can help them treat it that way.

What you'll be doing

  • Championing data governance across the organisation and helping the business get more strategic value from its data
  • Embedding strong data practices at every point in the data lifecycle
  • Building and leading a network of data owners/stewards across departments, bringing data policies to life day-to-day
  • Coaching business teams to raise their data maturity and confidence
  • Owning the rollout of the data catalogue — making sure it's well-designed, well-maintained, and genuinely useful
  • Driving up data quality by working with teams to spot and fix issues at the source
  • Shaping the broader data & analytics strategy through smart, practical governance input
  • Exploring new technology — including AI — to strengthen how data is managed and monitored
  • Running training and awareness activities to lift data literacy across the bank
  • Translating regulatory reporting changes into clear data requirements, and pushing for greater automation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
