A key part of the role involves building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, collaborating with subject matter experts and a growing network of data professionals to promote a data-driven culture and drive improved data outcomes. Drawing on your data management expertise, you will implement and maintain key data management capabilities, including metadata management, data lineage and data quality reporting. Through data profiling and analysis, you will help improve the accuracy, consistency and reliability of data, enabling better decision-making across the organisation.

You will ensure that data used within systems, reports and business processes is clearly understood, appropriately governed and optimised for both its intended purpose and potential reuse across the Society. In addition, you will support the development of a small team of data professionals, providing coaching and guidance to help them become trusted product data subject matter experts and build capability in data management and governance across the organisation.

About you

The minimum requirements for this role are:

• Metadata expertise – Hands on experience in defining what good looks like for business metadata management, building and maintaining data dictionaries and documenting definitions, business rules and data quality rules
• Data Quality profiling experience – Experience of profiling data to help inform business rules, establishing a basis for what good data looks like for the Society
• Ability to build and articulate value cases to drive the right course of action in response to Metadata issues
• The ability to understand business scopes, business terms and ensuring accurate metadata is captured and updated
• The ability to lead and bring people with you to galvanise action through making metadata management relevant to them
• Experience delivering technical solutions to technical and non-technical people
• Experience with Data Governance tools (e.g. Collibra, Informatica)
• Experience with SAS and/or SQL
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to proactively manage your own work and the work of others
