Most data governance programmes are still arguing about who owns the data. This one has the mandate, the executive backing, and Collibra already in the door. The Data Governance Lead just needs to make it land.
You'll be joining a major regulated organisation at the implementation stage of a federated governance model - hub-and-spoke design, council stand-up, stewardship accountability across multiple domains. Scope is real, timeline is live.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and embedding a federated data governance operating model across a complex, multi-domain environment
- Standing up the Data Governance Council and establishing data ownership and stewardship accountability
- Configuring and driving adoption of Collibra as the primary governance platform
- Defining data quality rules, metadata standards, and lineage processes aligned to DAMA principles
- Translating policy into practical operating procedures that teams will actually follow
- Delivering governance artefacts: policies, standards, operating procedures, and programme reports

What we're looking for
- Proven delivery of federated data governance in a large, complex organisation - not advisory, hands-on implementation
- Strong command of DAMA-DMBOK, FAIR principles, and data quality frameworks
- Hands-on Collibra experience - configuration, adoption, and day-to-day platform governance
- Background in a regulated or compliance-driven environment (GDPR or equivalent)
- Change leadership capability - credible with senior stakeholders, pragmatic in delivery
- Ability to build stewardship accountability across functions, not just document
