Data Governance & Quality Lead

Sector: Specialty Insurance | Lloyd's Market | MGA

Location: London

Employment Type: Permanent

The Opportunity

I'm working with a leading, technology-driven specialist insurance business that is looking to appoint a Quality Assurance Lead to strengthen its underwriting data governance, reporting controls and quality assurance capability.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Data Governance, Data Quality, MI Controls or Underwriting Operations who wants to take ownership of a critical function within a growing and evolving insurance business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Governance & Controls: Design, implement and own the quality assurance and control framework supporting underwriting data, MI and reporting.
  • Data Quality: Establish processes, health checks and validation controls to ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of reporting outputs.
  • Underwriting MI: Work closely with MI and reporting teams during month-end and quarter-end reporting cycles, ensuring information delivered to brokers and carrier partners meets required standards.
  • Master Data Management: Take ownership of MDM processes, improving consistency and standardisation across underwriting datasets.
  • Data Lineage & Documentation: Develop and maintain business glossaries, data definitions, reporting catalogues, process documentation and data lineage.
  • Risk & Exception Management: Identify data inconsistencies, control weaknesses and operational risks, implementing practical improvements and preventative measures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Underwriting, Operations, Data and senior stakeholders to embed accountability and strengthen data governance.
  • Transformation & Improvement: Support wider business transformation programmes, ensuring effective governance and reporting controls are incorporated into new processes and operating models.
  • Team Leadership: Help develop and lead a high-performing quality assurance and controls capability, promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
