What you’ll do:

  • Strategic Alignment – Translate enterprise-wide data risk policies into actionable programs in partnership with the Data & Information Risk Officer (DIRO).
  • Framework and Culture Development – Lead the development and maintenance of Data & Information Risk Management framework aligning it with operational risk and data governance frameworks. Be an ambassador for Data and Information Risk management, embedding a culture where proactive management of Data and Information Risk is an enabler for the Enterprise rather than barrier.
  • Policy and Controls Support – Support the design and maintenance of data risk framework, policies, standards and perform effectiveness assessments of data controls, including key metrics aligned to the enterprise’s risk appetite.
  • Risk Assessment and Remediation – Design, socialise and maintain the data risk assessment process, which will be conducted periodically by collaborating with business units to identify data and information risks, gaps and relevant remediation measures. Co-ordinate and monitor the remediation of Data and Information Risks in collaboration with Data and Information Risk Officers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and Reporting of Data & Information Risks – Produce regular and ad-hoc reports such as but not limited to Data Risk Scorecards, Risk Dashboards for data risk exposure, Risk issues and incident tracking, metrics and trends for DIRO & Executive Audiences.
  • Stakeholder Management – Act as coordination ‘point person on the ground’, working closely with the Data & Information Risk Officers (DIROs), ensuring daily execution of risk activities. Build strong relationships with and work collaboratively with Data Stewards, Data Owners, System/App Owners to investigate and respond to events affecting data risk.
  • Data Risk Forums & Governance – Prepare materials for relevant Governance forums and committees, including but not limited to Data & information Governance Councils and forums, coordinate data risk reviews, and targeted thematic reviews.

What you’ll bring:

  • Relationship Builder – able to build strong relationships quickly and cut through complexity with key partners to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes. Experience working with teams across Business Domain Areas, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Data Stewards/Owners.
  • Programmatic Excellence – proven background in program management for data-centric initiatives, utilising both agile and non-agile delivery practices. Proficient in running and supporting executive steering groups and senior governance forums.
  • Results Driven Track Record – Hands-on experience in managing data risk, data governance, enterprise risk, and compliance, supported by a demonstrated track record in regulated environments
  • Technical Expertise - strong knowledge of data and information risk categories, proficient in developing enterprise risk management frameworks, solid understanding of data & information governance disciplines and awareness of EU and UK regulatory and compliance frameworks requirements and their intersection with data & information risk.
  • Independent Operator - proven experience in autonomously implementing new risk management processes, tools and assessment frameworks while influencing senior stakeholders and coordinating across multiple business units.
  • Comfortable in Matrix Structure – able to operate in complex organisations with matrix reporting and working structures. Comfortable working in environments with both hard and dotted reporting lines whilst successfully executing against set objectives.
  • Exposure to Senior Governance Forums – demonstrated prior experience preparing or presenting to internal/external governance forums and senior executives in complex enterprises.
