Data Integration Consultant | 6 Month Contract

We're working with a leading UK utilities organisation to build custom data connectors bringing smart metering data into their BigQuery analytics platform. Looking for a Data Integration Consultant with genuine hands-on Fivetran Connector SDK authoring experience.
What you'll do
- Design and build custom Python data connectors using the Fivetran Connector SDK
- Ingest data from a smart metering platform (REST API) into Google BigQuery
- Design sync strategies: date-windowed incremental syncs, full refreshes, state checkpointing
- Define source-to-target mappings for meter reads, events, asset and operational data
- Validate data accuracy through reconciliation, completeness and data quality checks
- Troubleshoot ingestion failures, schema drift and latency issues

What you'll need
- Advanced Python (3.10+) development experience
- Strong API engineering: REST/GraphQL, OAuth 2.0, custom pagination, JSON parsing
- Genuine hands-on Fivetran Connector SDK experience, not just configuring pre-built connectors
- Experience designing ingestion patterns, source-to-target mappings and reconciliation approaches
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder collaboration skills

- Exposure to Temetra or similar smart metering platforms, utilities sector experience.
