As a Data Integration Specialist at United Utilities, you'll play a key role in enabling smarter decision-making across the business. Acting as the link between our Forecasting team and wider Data & Analytics function, you'll ensure that critical forecasting data is accessible, reliable and ready to support business planning.

This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with collaboration and problem-solving. You'll work with a variety of stakeholders to understand data requirements, design effective solutions and help build the foundations that power forecasting models and operational insights. Your work will directly support teams in making informed decisions that improve services for millions of customers.

Working in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, you'll be responsible for connecting, transforming and optimising data from multiple sources, helping to ensure it is accurate, consistent and fit for purpose. You'll contribute to the development of scalable data solutions, strengthen data quality and support continuous improvement across forecasting and analytics capabilities.

If you enjoy working with complex data, building effective relationships and helping others unlock the value of information, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a business that places data at the heart of its decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Data Access & Integration: Identify, access and integrate data sources required by the Forecasting & Insights team, ensuring data is accurate, timely, well-structured and fit for purpose.
  • Data Preparation & Transformation: Clean, manipulate and transform complex datasets from multiple sources, preparing high-quality data that enables effective analysis, forecasting and insight generation.
  • Pipeline Development: Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes that support forecasting models, reporting and analytical activities.
  • Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Review, profile and validate data to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness, identifying issues and working with stakeholders to resolve them before analysis takes place.
  • Technical Enablement: Provide hands-on technical expertise using tools such as SQL, Python and APIs to automate processes, improve data accessibility and support forecasting requirements.
  • Collaboration & Business Partnership: Act as the link between the Forecasting Team and the wider Data & Analytics function, translating business requirements into practical data solutions and ensuring data supports business objectives.
  • Insight Enablement: Work closely with analysts to understand forecasting and reporting requirements, ensuring data is organised and structured in a way that supports meaningful analysis, storytelling and decision-making.
  • Data Governance: Promote high standards of data quality, consistency and compliance, ensuring data solutions align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Tooling & Infrastructure: Collaborate with colleagues across Data & Analytics to optimise cloud platforms, data warehouses and analytical tools that support forecasting and insight activities.
  • Documentation & Standards: Maintain clear and accurate documentation of data sources, integration processes, business logic and technical solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve data integration, streamline processes, reduce manual effort and enhance the quality of data available to the Forecasting & Insights team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
