About the Role
We generate the evidence behind every claim we make about restoration, on every acre we hold. We continuously capture remote sensing data across a 50,000 acre portfolio, so the evidence must move at the speed the data arrives and stay usable by everyone who relies on it. Measuring change is the easier half. Showing it clearly enough that someone acts, is the work. As our Data Intern you'll work within our Oxygen Intelligence team, converting satellite, drone, and field-based survey data into a clear picture of what is genuinely happening on the ground. You'll classify LiDAR data to quantify change across the portfolio, building the evidence that sits behind our Intelligent Carbon and Intelligent Estates models. That work then goes in front of the people making investment, restoration and management decisions: our estate teams, our Capital team and our investors. What you produce will be seen well beyond the team that builds it.
About You
Environment
- A love for the natural world and rural environment, and a commitment to its ecological restoration.
- Passionate about helping remote sensing data have a positive impact on environmental restoration.
- Fascinated by how environmental data informs environmental decisions.
Impact
- Excellent with data (Python, Cloud Compare, ArcGIS) and want to get even better.
- Strong attention to detail with great visualisation skills. You can tell the difference between a chart that is technically correct and one that tells a story.
- Rigorous and questioning, checking that a signal is real before you put it in front of someone.
- Comfortable with large data sets and challenging their integrity.
Adventure
- Excited to visit the estates and ground-truth what the data claims.
- Keen to work with emerging tools, including AI, and to help shape how we use them.
Together
- A clear communicator with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- A great listener who collaborates closely with colleagues to understand what they really need, and who is open to giving and receiving feedback.
- And let's be honest, you have to be really kind too. Sharing snacks on long journeys or a packed lunch in the driving rain is mandatory!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Us
We're building the UK's first genuine Natural Capital portfolio: acquiring large landscapes, restoring them at scale, and proving that nature recovery can create real, investable value. Across our 12 estates, that means using restoration to create premium natural capital products like carbon credits, biodiversity units, and nature credits while also exploring regenerative agriculture, renewable energy and ecotourism experiences (you can check them out at Oxygen Escapes). In just five years, we've grown to managing over 50,000 acres and a valuation of hundreds of millions of pounds. By 2030, our ambition is to have 250,000 acres under restoration while to connect helping millions more acres for nature. Our mission is simple: prove that restoring ecosystems can not only deliver transformative environmental and social impact, but also financial returns. Our work hasn't gone unnoticed. In 2022, we were named Start-Up of the Year at the Business Leader South West Awards, followed by Team of the Year at the 2023 Edie Awards and our nature funding agreement with Triodos won ESG Deal of the Year at the 2024 Insider South West Dealmakers Awards. Our founder and CEO, Dr Rich Stockdale, is featured in the ENDS Power List as one of the top 100 UK environmental professionals driving significant impact.
