Data Delivery Lead

About

They are a growing data and technology consultancy helping organisations turn data into better decisions, smarter processes and new opportunities.

They're growing, and looking for a Tech Lead / Tech Delivery Lead to join the leadership team and take ownership of the technical quality and delivery of client work.

This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You'll be the senior technical and delivery anchor across the business - helping win new work, deliver brilliantly for clients, and earn the trust that brings them back.

The Role

This isn't a pure engineering role, and it isn't a strategy role where you hand over a roadmap and walk away.

We're looking for a confident, hands-on technical leader who enjoys getting into the detail, making decisions, challenging assumptions and driving things through to delivery.

Our Data Consultants lead discovery, design and much of the customer journey. You'll provide the technical oversight that keeps those phases on track, helping shape the architecture and technical approach before projects convert - then staying close to the build and delivery to make sure what we've promised gets delivered to a high standard.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll work across:

  • Presales
  • Client leadership
  • Technical delivery
  • Team leadership
  • Technology improvement
  • Technical strategy
  • Quality and governance

You'll also be someone the MD can trust to bounce ideas off, challenge thinking and help solve difficult problems.

What We're Looking For

You'll need a strong technical foundation across data, cloud and modern application development, alongside the leadership and consultancy skills to operate confidently with clients and senior stakeholders.

Experience with many of the technologies below would be valuable:

  • Cloud: Azure and/or AWS
  • Data platforms: Databricks, Snowflake and/or Microsoft Fabric - with deep expertise in at least one
  • BI & visualisation: Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Generative AI: ChatGPT, Copilot and/or Gemini
  • Apps & automation: Microsoft Power Platform
  • Source control & CI/CD: GitHub and/or Azure DevOps
  • Infrastructure as code: Terraform
  • Code: SQL and Python

The Person

Fit matters hugely. They're a small, growing business, so need someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, working across boundaries and helping shape how they operate.

You'll probably be at your best here if you:

  • Are confident making decisions and taking ownership.
  • Enjoy being hands-on, not just a strategic observer.
  • Care deeply about the client experience as well as technical quality.
  • Can move comfortably between a technical conversation with a developer and a commercial conversation with a client or senior leader.
  • Aren't afraid to say "I don't think that's right" - and can explain why.
  • Like improving things rather than accepting "that's how we've always done it".
  • Have the maturity and judgement to know when to get into the detail and when to step back.
  • Want to play a meaningful role in a growing consultancy rather than becoming another cog in a large organisation.
