Synapri are supporting a PE backed organisation who are searching for a Data Lead who is capable of building the Data Foundations for a business who are looking to enter the scale up phase of their development. The long term goal for the organisation is to grow, which naturally leads to a more complex ecosystem so are looking to ensure that their data is accessible, organised and able to gain insights from it that will lead the decision making process moving forward.
The main areas that will be the focus of the role would be; Data Foundations, Data Analytics and building a Data Platform with a view to become AI ready.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys thinking big while also getting stuck into the detail. You'll help shape the future of data and AI, while building the tools, processes, and capabilities the business needs right now.
Working closely with C Level, Senior Leadership Team and various teams across the business, you'll make sure data is at the heart of better decision-making. Initially, you'll focus on creating strong data foundations, understanding how information flows through the business, improving data quality, and solving practical business problems.

Data Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the organisation's enterprise data strategy aligned to business and value creation objectives.
- Establish a roadmap for data maturity across analytics, reporting, governance, and self-service capabilities.
- Act as the executive owner for data across the organisation.
- Influence senior stakeholders and foster a data-driven culture across all business functions.
- Partner with PE stakeholders and leadership teams to deliver data insights supporting growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Build the Data Function
- Design and build the company's data capability from the ground up.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team across Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, and Data Governance.
- Define operating models, processes, standards, and ways of working.
- Establish relationships with technology partners and external vendors where required.

Data Platform & Architecture
- Lead the development of a scalable modern data platform and data architecture.
- Define the company's approach to data warehousing, data lakes, integration, and analytics tooling.
- Oversee the implementation of robust ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipelines.
- Ensure solutions are scalable and support future acquisitions and business growth.
Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Deliver meaningful KPI reporting and executive dashboards.
- Enable self-service analytics across the business.
- Develop advanced analytical capabilities to support decision making, forecasting, customer insight, pricing, operational improvement, and commercial performance.
- Establish a single source of truth for performance reporting.
Data Governance & Quality
- Create and implement a data governance framework.
- Establish data quality standards, ownership, controls, and monitoring processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and security requirements.
- Drive improvements in data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
