Role Summary

BU/Segment: Data Management / Banking & Capital Markets
Location: London, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working, with time on client site as required)
Reports to: VP2 – Data Management Leader (IMU / SGU Interlock Lead)
Employment Type: Permanent

The VP – Data Management Engagement Lead is a senior, client-facing leadership role that combines hands-on leadership of a strategic client engagement with a substantial contribution to the growth and development of the Data Management practice. Working under the direction of the Interlock Lead, this role is accountable for the end-to-end success of assigned flagship engagements, delivery, commercials, client relationships and team, while dedicating a defined proportion of their time to building the propositions, assets and client evidence that underpin the practice's go-to-market agenda.

This is a role for a senior practitioner who can operate credibly in front of client executives, lead multi-shore delivery teams on site, and translate what they see and learn on engagements into repeatable propositions and proof points for the wider practice. The role carries engagement-level commercial accountability and contributes to the vertical's growth plan; it does not carry vertical P&L ownership, which sits with the Interlock Lead.

Banking and Capital Markets domain expertise is essential, with the successful candidate bringing a strong understanding of the data management, governance, regulatory and transformation challenges facing financial services organisations.

Key Responsibilities

45% Engagement Leadership

  • Lead the successful delivery of assigned strategic Data Management client engagements from initiation through completion, on site with the client as required, in alignment with business requirements, project objectives, contracted deliverables and EXL methodologies.
  • Own the engagement-level commercials: budget, margin, invoicing, provisions and forecasts, working with the Finance team monthly and escalating material variances to the Interlock Lead.
  • Serve as the senior EXL Data Management leader on the ground for the engagement, acting as the day-to-day escalation point for the client's delivery sponsors and programme leadership.
  • Identify, onboard, assemble and manage the multi-functional, multi-shore resources required to fulfil planned delivery to customer expectations, leveraging technical and competency leads for consistent, competent expertise.
  • Manage project change requests, change orders and corrective actions; develop and execute action plans where delivery is at risk or underperforming.
  • Conduct engagement analysis to identify client issues, risks, opportunities and their potential impacts, and produce engagement metrics that evidence delivery success and business value.
  • Facilitate consistent communication to stakeholders outlining status, risks, issues and action plans, including accurate and timely updates to project sponsors and the Interlock Lead.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
