Data Management Lead – Insurance Data Governance & Finance Transformation
Location: Horsham, UK / Hybrid
Employment Type: Fixed term contract / Contract
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Management Lead with strong Insurance domain expertise to drive data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management initiatives across critical business platforms. This role will play a key part in ensuring trusted, compliant, and well-governed data to support strategic programmes including finance transformation, regulatory compliance, data retention, and archival initiatives.
Working closely with Data Architects, Engineering teams, Finance stakeholders, and Business SMEs, you will establish governance frameworks, improve data quality, and ensure data remains accurate, secure, auditable, and fit for purpose across policy, claims, and finance ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Data Quality
- Define, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks supporting finance transformation programmes.
- Establish and monitor data quality standards, controls, and KPIs.
- Design and implement reconciliation processes across Policy, Claims, and Finance datasets.
- Drive continuous improvement in data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and integrity.
- Support the creation and maintenance of a single source of truth for enterprise financial reporting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and governance processes.

Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory
- Strong experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Management.
- Extensive experience within the Insurance sector covering Policy, Claims, and/or Finance data.
- Proven background in Finance Transformation or Financial Reporting programmes.
- Experience implementing data quality controls, reconciliation frameworks, and governance processes.
- Strong understanding of data retention, archival, audit, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Good knowledge of GDPR and data privacy principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
