Our client is a long-established, privately owned UK organisation with decades of success delivering technical and engineering services across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Data Management Lead to join their team based in the Telford area.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys improving data quality, implementing best practice, and leading data governance initiatives within a growing business.

The Role
As the Data Management Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's data governance, ensuring data accuracy, security, consistency and accessibility across the business. You'll work closely with multiple departments to develop best practices for data management, storage and compliance while leading improvements to existing processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's data governance strategy and policies.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Oversee data quality, validation, and compliance across business systems.
- Develop and maintain data management processes and standards.
- Manage data architecture and support efficient storage and retrieval.
- Improve data integration between systems.
- Ensure robust data security, access controls, and compliance.
- Support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives.
- Oversee metadata management and data lifecycle processes.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved reporting and analytics.
- Promote best practice around email storage, document management, and business data usage.
- Lead and develop the data management function.

About You
We're looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience leading or managing a data management function.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles.
- Experience with database systems and data architecture.
- Understanding of data modelling and data quality management.
- Knowledge of data security best practices and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally, including overnight stays when required.
