Data Manager I
6 Months – 37.5 hrs per week - £57 Inside IR35 per hour £427.50 Inside IR25 per day – travel to the Manchester office 2 days per week
Join our dynamic team as a Data Manager where your expertise will be pivotal in shaping data governance, quality, and architecture for a forward-thinking organisation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead critical data initiatives, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and make a tangible impact on business performance.
Role Overview
As a Data Manager Level E, you will combine technical mastery with strategic insight and exceptional communication skills to ensure the integrity, availability, and compliance of data systems across the organisation. You'll support business needs through proactive data quality monitoring, issue resolution, and governance best practices. Working closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Insights Analysts, you will help build robust data solutions that enable smarter decision-making and operational efficiency. Reporting to a Senior Data Manager, this hands-on role requires a proactive problem-solver eager to innovate and influence at all levels.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for complex data analysis and logic development
- Experience profiling and exploratory data analysis
- Skilled in Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Knowledge of Data Governance, lifecycle management, and metadata standards
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in data quality, governance, or management
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities, capable of engaging with senior leadership and technical teams
- Familiarity with Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures, ETL workflows, and data modelling
- Experience working within an Agile environment with excellent organisational skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Familiarity with Calibra, AI integration, and third-party data tools
- Experience in finance or data engineering contexts
- Use of data governance tools like Collibra
- Background in analytics from finance, marketing, or operations
- Knowledge of AI-driven data quality and productivity solutions

Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or vocational qualifications related to data analysis or business analysis preferred
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in data management roles
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a product-oriented, agile setting
Other Requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain comprehensive data documentation, including Data Dictionaries and Data Lineage
- Dedication to continuous learning and improvement in data literacy and governance practices
- A proactive approach to regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and data security standards
- Willingness to collaborate across teams and influence organisational data culture
