Data Migration Engineer – | Outside IR35

Location: London – onsite 1 day per week for the initial month, then remote
Contract: 5 months
Rate: £300–£320 per day
IR35: Outside IR35

I’m currently recruiting for a Data Migration Engineer to join a major global transformation programme for a large multi-site UK organisation.

The programme is replacing the organisation’s core ERP and middle-office platforms, with data migration being a critical part of the transformation. We’re looking for experienced analysts who can take ownership of the hands-on data preparation, mapping, cleansing and validation activities required ahead of the migration and upcoming go-live.

Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in:

  • Mapping source data against target data models and applying agreed mapping rules
  • Cleansing and preparing data to a load-ready standard
  • Identifying and resolving data-quality issues and exceptions
  • Supporting data validation and reviewing migration outputs with relevant SMEs
  • Documenting mapping rules, transformations and data decisions
  • Working across multiple data domains and applications
  • Liaising with data owners, application owners and operational SMEs to resolve queries
  • Following a structured data migration methodology and working to agreed delivery timelines
  • Supporting the final handover of migration activity and documentation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Desirable Experience

  • SAP / SAP S/4HANA
  • ERP implementation or transformation programmes
  • Master Data Management
  • Data-quality tools
  • Large-scale or multi-site organisations
