Data Migration Architect

Active SC Clearance Required

Location: Remote, with meetings in London 1 to 2 times a month

Contract Type: Inside IR35

Rate: £700 - £800 per day

Role Profile: Data Migration Architect

The Data Migration Architect is responsible for defining, leading, and assuring the end-to-end migration of complex enterprise data from a legacy platform to modern cloud-based architecture. This role combines technical expertise with architectural leadership, governance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful, secure, and efficient data migration solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of large-scale data migration, including the migration of high-volume, complex datasets (e.g. ~400GB) from a legacy Oracle data architecture to a more decomposed, cloud-based PostgreSQL environment.
  • Provide architectural leadership to extend and refine existing approved High-Level Designs (HLDs), ensuring robust, scalable, and future-proof solutions for evolving data migration requirements.
  • Guide and support data engineering teams, ensuring development aligns with agreed architectural patterns and standards, and any required design changes are appropriately made and governed.
  • Collaborate closely with client stakeholders to define and agree solutions across security architecture, development, and testing within AWS cloud environments.
  • Act as the solution owner for data migration, coordinating across client and third-party organisations to ensure technical integrity, security, development and testing, ultimately leading to successful delivery of the data migration solution.
  • Lead architecture governance activities within programme and enterprise forums including presenting solutions to client governance boards such as security, data, and technical design authorities.
  • Work in partnership with delivery management to identify and manage technical dependencies across the wider programme, ensuring alignment and timely resolution.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
