Data Migration Lead
Location: Reading, Berkshire, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite
Contract: 6-12 Months
Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Lead with 15+ years of IT experience and a strong track record of leading complex data migration programmes. The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle EBS expertise and experience managing migration strategy, delivery, deployment, cutover, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex Data Migration projects from strategy through to successful delivery.
- Define and implement effective Data Migration strategies, plans, and approaches.
- Oversee end-to-end migration activities and ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery.
- Provide strong expertise and guidance around Oracle EBS data and migration requirements.
- Create and manage detailed deployment plans.
- Work closely with Cutover and Release Management teams to ensure smooth and timely deployments.
- Drive discussions with business stakeholders and provide clear updates on migration progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Lead onsite delivery activities and coordinate effectively with offshore teams.
- Ensure offshore teams remain aligned with project objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
- Manage internal and external vendors and ensure delivery against agreed expectations.
- Lead project teams and manage onsite-offshore coordination.
- Identify delivery risks and dependencies and proactively drive their resolution.
- Ensure migration activities remain on track and meet required quality standards.

- 15+ years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in Data Migration.
- Proven experience as a Data Migration Lead / Migration Lead on complex programmes.
- Strong experience defining and executing Data Migration Strategy.
- Good hands-on/functional knowledge of Oracle EBS.
- Strong understanding of data migration lifecycle, deployment, cutover, and release processes.
- Experience creating and managing deployment and migration plans.
- Proven experience working with Cutover and Release Management teams.
- Strong client/stakeholder management skills.
- Strong vendor management experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing onsite-offshore delivery models.
- Ability to engage directly with business stakeholders and drive discussions.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and delivery management capabilities.
