We are embarking on a huge program of global business transformation enabled by the implementation of a new global technology solution. The delivery and embedding of this technology solution across our highly successful and highly de-centralized business will change the way we work forever, enabling greater data insight, simplification of processes and ways of working and creating greater collaboration across the business.

Key Responsibilities

We are currently looking to recruit 4 x Data Migration Specialists. This person is someone with significant hands-on experience of working within large ERP implementation projects, responsibility for the delivery of the data migration plan. This role is a 2-year fixed term contract.

They are extremely familiar with the current standard tools and techniques required for the smooth migration of data from legacy systems to the new target ERP, as well as to support the creation of a new Data Quality system.

As an expert in this field, they will also provide valuable support and input into the creation of a data migration and validation strategy and assist with the ETL plan.

The post holder will need to demonstrate some flexibility in working hours aligned with a global role.

Data Quality and Migration Strategy

  • Work with the business, Data Lead and Systems Integrator (SI) to define the data requirements and structure for a new Data Quality Tool
  • Work with the Data Lead and GPOs to obtain agreed data standards relevant to data cleansing and transformation activities. Configuration of the DQ tool to ensure alignment with the standards and a process for tracking ongoing quality
  • Support the data mapping workshops, including the creation of material for facilitation (data object definition and new solution familiarisation document)
  • Work with data stakeholders (Global Process Owners, Local Data Owners) to ensure agreement of standards and then drive compliance of the data migration and validation outcome to those standards
  • Setup and execute the legacy system extracts in preparation for validation of data by the business

Migration Delivery

  • Support the development of detailed data plans per functional area and provide input into identifying relevant resource requirements from business and IS. Enable plan integration into overall project plans and timelines.
  • Ensure timely delivery of data migration activities to support plan
  • Work with the GPOs to ensure relevant data assignments (eg remediation) have been made to the BU data owners and tracking of progress is done.
  • Support the development and test teams with the creation of test data.
  • Review of migration issues, perform lessons learned and regular feedback on the migration process to the Data Lead and GPOs

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • At least 3 full lifecycles working on large global ERP change programmes, ideally within a manufacturing logistics environment.
  • Experience of working within delivery teams (internal and external) for projects of significant size
  • ERP Experience on SAP-R3 and S/4HANA
  • Significant demonstrated hands-on experience of using multiple ETL platforms (data extract, profiling, transform, data quality)
  • Ability to work with a multitude of ETL platforms and extract data from complex legacy systems
  • Significant understanding of the tools and techniques of transform processes in order that data meets the needs of target systems
  • Ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
  • Ability to engage with credibility and gravitas with senior stakeholders across a wide range of operational and functional areas
  • Ability to influence others and to work successfully with senior stakeholders to achieve a common vision or goal
