Tier 1 Global Investment Bank is looking for a Data Migration Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document source and target data object models, including clear alignment and transformation logic
- Design and maintain robust data mapping specifications to support ETL development, testing, reconciliation, and business sign-off
- Act as the conduit between raw data sources and downstream consumers, ensuring data is transformed, integrated, and routed correctly
- Collaborate closely with IT and business subject matter experts to agree mapping rules, golden sources, and transformation decisions
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across all mappings
- Lead and contribute to defect triage and root cause analysis where data issues arise
- Own and maintain mapping documentation with strong version control and clear audit trails
- Build strong relationships with IT, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors
- Support ETL developers and test teams with source data extracts and technical clarifications
- Lead data mapping workshops and drive decisions to timely and pragmatic conclusions

Required Experience & Skills

- Strong background in data mapping, design, and data transformation within large-scale programmes
- Proven experience working with legacy data migrations and the complexities they introduce
- Expert-level understanding of data modelling and object modelling
- Advanced SQL skills to validate and prove data concepts
- Experience working closely with developers, testers, and reconciliation teams
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge, influence, and drive decisions
- Ability to manage and coordinate third-party vendors
- Experience with Avaloq is highly advantageous but not essential.
