Data Modeller

London (Hybrid, 2 days per week)
Up to £65,000

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Data Modeller, Analytics Engineer, or data professional with strong modelling expertise to join a growing architecture function and help shape the future of enterprise data. You'll play a key role in establishing data standards, supporting a modern cloud-based data platform, and developing your career towards Data Architecture within a highly collaborative environment.

The business is focused on strengthening its data foundations, improving decision-making, and building scalable platforms that support long-term organisational objectives. This role sits within a well-established architecture practice and offers excellent exposure across data, technology, and business teams.

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Support the definition and maintenance of enterprise data modelling standards
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and effective data structures
  • Apply dimensional modelling methodologies including Kimball and Data Vault
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, Architects, and Governance teams
  • Support the development of modern cloud-based data platforms and reporting solutions
  • Contribute to data transformation and modernisation initiatives
  • Document data structures, relationships, metadata, and modelling artefacts
  • Promote architecture best practice and data governance standards across the organisation
  • Develop architecture knowledge and progress towards a Data Architect career path

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in data modelling within modern data environments
  • Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modelling methodologies, including Kimball and/or Data Vault
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, ideally within Azure environments
  • Understanding of data architecture principles and a genuine interest in developing into an architectural role
  • Experience working closely with Data Engineers, Analytics teams, and business stakeholders
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Python, PySpark, or dbt would be beneficial
  • Experience with data modelling tools such as Sparx EA, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Enterprise Architect, ER/Studio, ERwin, Erwin Data Modeler, PowerDesigner, SAP PowerDesigner, or comparable modelling platforms
  • Understanding of Medallion Architecture or modern data platform design principles would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
