Overview

This is an opportunity to join a major enterprise-wide data governance programme focused on improving data quality, accessibility, compliance, and governance across a complex business environment.

As a Data Modeller / GraphQL Developer, you will play a key role in designing scalable enterprise data models, developing GraphQL services, and supporting data governance initiatives that enable effective management and utilisation of business-critical data assets.

Working closely with enterprise architects, business analysts, data engineers, governance specialists, and business stakeholders, you will help deliver robust data solutions that support enterprise data catalogues, metadata management, and complex analytical and operational workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.
  • Develop scalable and reusable data models supporting analytical and operational business requirements.
  • Design data structures across complex ETL and ELT environments, from raw ingestion through to curated and consumption layers.
  • Maintain enterprise metadata, data dictionaries, and business glossaries.
  • Ensure consistent application of enterprise data standards and governance frameworks.
  • Design, develop, and maintain GraphQL APIs, schemas, and resolvers.
  • Integrate GraphQL services with enterprise databases and data platforms.
  • Optimise API and query performance to support scalable, high-performing applications.
  • Implement authentication, authorisation, and security controls for GraphQL services.
  • Support enterprise Data Governance initiatives, including metadata management and data lineage programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with data quality, privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of enterprise data catalogues and governance tooling.
  • Develop advanced SQL solutions for data validation, transformation, profiling, and reporting.
  • Optimise database performance and support governance-focused analytics requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in design workshops, architecture reviews, and technical governance activities.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, data models, and solution designs.
